National Biomass InitiativeNeil Rossmeissl Mr. Rossmeissl is the DOE Manager for Analysis Coordination and the Integrated Biorefinery awards within the Office of the Biomass Program. He is responsible for ensuring all of the different analysis activities funded by the programs support the R&D platforms. Mr. Rossmeissl is also the Designated Federal Officer for the USDA/DOE Biomass R&D Technical Advisory Committee. Prior to joining the Biomass Program, he was the DOE Manager for the Safety, Codes and Standards SubProgram, within the Office of Hydrogen, Fuel Cells and Infrastructure Technologies. Mr. Rossmeissl had been with the Hydrogen Program since June 1993. Prior to this assignment, he was the Program Manager for the Combustion Program within the Office of Industrial Technologies. Before joining the Department of Energy in June 1992, Mr. Rossmeissl was the Plant Manager for a Virginia, co-fired 70 MW coal fueled Non-Utility Generator. Earlier, Mr. Rossmeissl managed NASA and Air Force research and development programs for advanced propulsion systems; managed a research division conducting R&D on energy programs to support the DOE and Pittsburgh Energy Technology Center, was Plant Manager for the first of its kind, coal-water slurry production plant, and managed a department responsible for fuels combustion and emissions control. Mr. Rossmeissl attended the University of Maryland and has degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering; and has published over 35 technical papers on combustion, process development, and systems analysis. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
